Dimi Barot, MD
Dr. Dimi Barot graduated from a 7-year Honors Program in Medicine in 2001 and continued to the top-ranked University of Miami Neurology Program. Thereafter he pursued subspecialty training in Sleep Medicine via Yale University and returned to Virginia as the first sleep fellowship-trained specialist in the state. Within five years of starting an independent medical practice, Dr. Barot had been named a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine and repeatedly honored with the Patients’ Choice Award, America’s Top Physicians Award and America’s Most Compassionate Physicians Award.
Dr. Barot is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology in both Neurology and Sleep Medicine and served on the Board of Visitors of Eastern Virginia Medical School, where he was also promoted to Associate Professor. He was elected as the youngest Fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) and as the youngest Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN). He has published articles in national journals and chapters in authoritative textbooks on sleep medicine.
Rebecca Bae, DMSc, MPA, PA-C
Rebecca is a native Floridian, graduating summa cum laude from the University of Florida with a degree in Health Science and a minor in Spanish. She completed her training as a physician assistant (PA) at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) from where she also became a Doctor of Medical Science with an emphasis in high quality clinical care.
As a provider, her experience is diversified, spanning general, specialty, and subspecialty care in urgent, outpatient, and even inpatient and surgical settings. In each of these, she has grown an immense appreciation for the far-reaching influence of sleep. Even before PA school, she worked in a psycho-oncology research lab studying the biopsychosocial interactions of gynecologic malignancies with a special focus on the impact of sleep.
Rebecca practices medicine from a holistic perspective, always considering the impact of one’s chief concerns on quality of life. She honors the time her patients carve out of their days to seek her help and approaches each encounter with a lens of compassion. She values access to care and is happy to offer telemedicine services to patients near and far.
Apart from the clinic, Rebecca enjoys time with her wonderful husband with whom she shares four children in Virginia. They delight in outdoor activities, board games, cooking shows, and worship/fun at their church.
Seong Kim, MPA, PA-C
Seong Kim, MPA, PA-C is a board-certified physician assistant with over 9 years of experience in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders with a focus on obstructive sleep apnea. With a compassionate approach to care, she works closely with each patient to create personalized treatment plans to promote restorative sleep and overall health.
In addition to clinical practice, she stays at the forefront of sleep research and is a member of the Virginia Academy of Sleep Medicine. Seong Kim is dedicated to helping patients achieve better sleep and improving quality of life, recognizing its vital role in improving mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
She is a native Virginian that graduated summa cum laude from Virginia Commonwealth University with her undergraduate degree in Nuclear Medicine and earned her Masters Degree and physician assistant training at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS).
When not seeing patients, she enjoys spending time with her family and loved ones and has personal interests in reading, traveling, and learning to play pickleball.
Lynn Watkins, FNP-C
Lynn is a Family Nurse Practitioner with experience working as an NP in Sleep Medicine but also with over 8 years of working in Primary Care as well as 1.5 years in Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. She previously worked as a Surgical Nurse at VCU Hospital, specializing in Neurosurgery and was a member of the endovascular stroke/aneurysm team for 5 years. Prior to this, she worked as an Emergency Medical Technician while living in Charlotte, NC for 2 years.
Lynn holds a Master of Science in Nursing degree specializing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Maryville University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Marymount University in Arlington, VA, as well as holds a Bachelor of Art degree in Psychology from UNC-Wilmington.
Lynn cares for patient’s using evidence-based practice and while also demonstrating compassionate care. She believes that sleep apnea and sleep related disorders can not only affect a patient’s quality of life but also its quantity. Due to this belief, she works with her patients and their families to find the best treatment plan that fits the individual patient’s needs.
Lynn enjoys spending time with her family and friends, while also watching her kids in sports and music. She enjoys singing and has sung the National Anthem for the Flying Squirrels for years as well as for several charity events in Richmond. She played Division 1 Volleyball as a Libero at UNC-Wilmington and still plays when she can.
